Invitations & Décor

Spray invitations with a spritz of chocolate cologne spray or perfume for a delightful smell. Who could resist!

Tell your guests to wear comfortable clothing. Be specific with your instructions based on the type of chocolate spa treatments you plan to offer. Need flip-flops or a robe? Let them know so that everyone is prepared and comfortable.

Chocolate scented candles are a must for a chocolate spa party! Add unscented tea lights for enhanced lighting and mood.

Turn on serene, soothing music or a CD with nature sounds.

Look for chocolate brown party goods along with calming, complimentary colored accessories. Pale lavender and light mint green are nice "spa-like" choices that go well with brown.

Fresh flowers, greenery or plants will help to create a spa environment. Choose soothing colors for your flowers, like creamy whites, rose, pinks and lavenders.

Place small, decorative plates or bowls of chocolate truffles on the table in the spa area. Add doilies, lace or pretty place mats for a nice touch. Wicker or rattan pieces work well too.

Get rid of the clutter. Stuff it in the closet if you must! You want everything to look restful, relaxing and pleasant.

Food & Drink

Obviously something chocolate - but the choices are limitless! Make mini-sized portions or slices so that party guests can try a little of everything. If you don't have time to go crazy in the kitchen, or hate to bake, don't despair. There are plenty of readily available, high quality chocolate treats that you can buy. Chocolate chip cookies and brownies are always a favorite. Other ideal choices:

Dark chocolate covered strawberries are the perfect treat for a chocolate spa party. They're luscious, easy to make and packed with vitamins and antioxidants.

Other healthy choices to consider: Dark chocolate covered granny smith apples, frozen chocolate covered banana chunks, dark chocolate covered almonds.

For a brunch or afternoon party where "too-sweet" desserts are not desired, opt for chocolate coffeecake, chocolate bread or muffins. They go well with a chocolate fondue and lots of fresh fruit.

Have plenty of chilled bottled water, sparkling water or mineral water. A little champagne makes an adult party extra special.

Spa Supplies & Treatments

Assemble the items and supplies that you'll need, such as:
  • Lots of fluffy towels and washcloths
  • Tubs for footbaths or bowls for soaking fingernails. (discount plastic tubs work just fine)
  • Cotton balls and nail polish remover
  • Spa supplies, like pumice stones and nail files. (one per guest -dollar stores are great for these.
  • Spa treatments (see below)

A chocolate mini-pedicure works well for most spa parties because guests don't have to change clothing. Here's what to do:
  1. Soak using chocolate pedicure bombs, bath bombs, chocolate bubble bath or chocolate bath salts.
  2. Scrub with a chocolate sugar scrub.
  3. Moisturize with a chocolate scented foot lotion, body cream or body butter.
  4. Apply a beautiful cocoa-inspired nail polish. A sheer and shimmery, but not too dark, color is attractive on everyone. Our favorites to try: OPI Chocolate Moose or OPI Chocolate Shake-spear.
Other simple ideas:
  • Try a chocolate mini-manicure using a moisturizing soak and treatment, similar to the pedicure idea.
  • Pass around some chocolate scented body spray or cologne spray for everyone to enjoy.
  • Make and apply a chocolate facial mask. Teens and younger girls really enjoy this one. Try this ultra-easy recipe for Chocolate Berry Facial:
    1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup washed strawberries or raspberries
3 tsp. cocoa power (adjust as needed to correct consistency)
Mash up the berries. Blend in yogurt and cocoa and then mix thoroughly. Refrigerate until use. Apply to clean skin. Leave on face about 15 minutes and then rinse off. Safe for most skin types. A little goes a long way!

Chocolate Spa Party Favors

Take-home chocolate spa treatments are the perfect favor for your chocolate spa party. Chocolate bath bombs, soaps, lotions and candles are always a favorite. You can create chocolate theme favor bags by adding truffles, chocolate novelties, and other fun stuff. Some suggestions:

  • Flip flops and chocolate scented foot lotion in a cello bag, tied with a ribbon.
  • A small basket (look in the dollar store) with a chocolate scented candle and bag of brownies.
  • A chocolate bath bomb wrapped in pretty tulle and ribbon.
  • Chocolate soap and an exfoliating bath sponge or mitt, tied together with a ribbon.
  • A decorative bag or jar of homemade chocolate bath salts.
